In summer, boat owners are particularly keen to experience water sports such as water skiing and fliteboarding, with smaller boats also providing great fun. We tested various fun devices behind the AMT 210 DC day cruiser. Were the wakeboard, water skis & co. convincing? Find out in our test reports

At temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius, boat owners are the best of friends. Of course, everyone wants to swim and get a tan in the sun. For those who not only want to cool off but also have fun, water skiing, kneeboarding or even exotic activities such as fliteboarding could be just the thing. It doesn't always have to be a boat that has been specially built for this purpose. Smaller boats with less horsepower also promise fun. The rating is an average of the boat test crew present on the day.

The valuation

The fun factor is rated from 1 (boring) to 10 (super fun). The difficulty is similar: 1 = easy, 10 = difficult. The stowage size depends on the boat, of course. We started from a 25-foot boat. The scale is as follows: 1 = very bulky and 10 = barely visible. Of course, wearing a lifejacket and sometimes a helmet is mandatory.

The AMT 210 DC is a Finnish day cruiser that was ideal for our test purposes. There is enough space on board for five people, and two people can also spend the night comfortably. The handling characteristics

We were just as impressed by the boat as by its good build quality. With its 175 hp Yamaha engine, it was able to pull our test candidates out of the water with ease. There was enough storage space for tubes, water skis and foil boards. At full throttle, the GPS gauge showed a speed of 39 knots. The boat weighs around 1250 kilograms and is therefore also easy to trailer for fun away from home. We particularly liked the fixed water ski pole during our test. We hired the boat from Bootservice und Handel Thalmann. You can charter it there.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
