Aqua-Fisch will open its doors in Friedrichshafen from 6 to 8 March 2026. 138 exhibitors will present innovations for angling and aquatics. Start-ups will showcase functional solutions, while workshops and lectures will impart knowledge.

The trade fair combines product presentations with a supporting programme of workshops, lectures and demo demonstrations. "From targeted purchasing to hands-on workshops: Both beginners and experienced hobbyists will find numerous points of contact at Aqua-Fisch. We combine innovation, expertise and personal encounters, making the trade fair a meeting place for the community," says Project Manager Felix Klarmann. Visitors can tie streamers, build carp rigs or set up shrimp jars in workshops. The fair is regarded as the largest fish fair in southern Germany and marks the start of the season for anglers. Test pools and a casting area allow visitors to try out equipment in practice.

Start-up solves transport problem for plug-in rods

As a passionate angler, Marco Schwenk developed a transport lock for plug-in rods. He was not convinced by Velcro or elastic bands. "I'm a tinkerer and wanted to develop a product that solved this problem consistently," explains the founder of Rod Crab. The development required numerous tests. "I developed countless prototypes until the function was perfect - for every rod size," says Schwenk. The result is a flexible transport lock that adapts to any rod diameter. He founded his company in 2023. Production takes place entirely in Germany. At Aqua-Fisch, Rod Crab will be presenting a version for three-piece plug-in and dropshot rods as well as a new wall mount system for the first time alongside the established version for two-piece plug-in rods.

Aquarium decoration at the Aqua-Fisch

Kevin Begaj was faced with a practical problem: his male catfish could not be caught from the cave. This everyday situation led to the business idea. "I had a male catfish that wouldn't come out of its cave. That gave me the idea of developing a solution that could be opened," explains the founder of Prime 3D. Using his 3D printer, he began to design a suitable cave. The start-up, which specialises in furnishings and decorative items made from PETG for aquariums, developed from his own requirements. The product range extends from catfish caves and spawning plates to shrimp pyramids and T-Rex skulls. Prime 3D also offers customised 3D prints.

Nano tanks and aquascaping in demand

Daniel Konn-Vetterlein, editor-in-chief of the specialist magazine aquaristik published by Dähne Verlag, observes current trends in aquaristics. "Nano tanks and aquascaping are still very popular. But more and more people are also interested in microscopy," says Konn-Vetterlein. Aquarists continue to invest in their hobby. "Especially when it comes to good food or high-quality filter materials, they don't cut corners," explains the editor-in-chief. Dähne Verlag offers an extensive lecture programme at the Aquaristik Forum.

Water protection through child and youth work

The Baden-Württemberg State Fishing Association is focussing on environmental education for young people. Jörg Klausmann, District Youth Officer for the South Baden district, explains the concept: "When children analyse water samples and identify organisms themselves, they develop a real understanding of nature and biodiversity." His guiding principle: "Let's teach the children to look after the water so that the streams continue to flow clean and clear in the future."
