The BOOTE issue 11/25 is dedicated to topics ranging from seasickness, its causes and possible remedies to insights into the everyday life of the water police. It also explains how to prepare boats for the winter and takes a look at the trend sport of motosurfing.

Seasickness is one of the most unpleasant side effects of our leisure activities. While inland skippers are usually spared it, coastal and sea skippers are rarely immune. And yet it does not automatically affect everyone, and certainly not with the same severity. In a three-part series, the well-known circumnavigator and author Sönke Roever and doctor Stefanie Kamke report in detail on the background and possible remedies.

Anyone who works for the water police must also be seaworthy. We accompany water police officer and former sailor Enno Cassens and his colleagues on a patrol on the Flensburg Fjord in the border region between Germany and Denmark. In this issue, you can read about everyday life on their 50-knot jet boat "Seestern" and what they experience in practice.

Let's come to an unpleasant truth, which is due to the time of year: the boating season is over. These days, most boats are going into winter storage and the jetties are emptying. For this reason, we will show you how to prepare boat engines and drives for hibernation using photo instructions.

Last but not least, in this issue we also look at a side issue of motorised water sports. We are talking about motosurfing. This is still a relatively new form of locomotion on motorised surfboards, which is becoming increasingly popular, especially among the younger generation.
