Spot Zero advertises its water purifiers as "the most compact on the planet". The Mobile Pro is a good 112 centimetres long, weighs 75 kilograms and is aimed at owners of yachts between twelve and 18 metres in length. The aim is to produce absolutely residue-free "spot zero" drinking water.
Filters and membranes are continuously monitored as they work and the data is displayed on an LCD screen. The device is operated via a touchscreen, similar to that of a smartphone. Thanks to its (removable) wheels and handle, the aluminium box can be moved easily, while rubber feet hold it securely on the cockpit floor. The mini version is already available, the Pro will be available from October 2024 for around 3775 euros.
Clean drinking water on board pleasure craft is vital for the health and well-being of crew and passengers. Due to the limited resources on board, it is important to regularly filter, sanitise and monitor the water to ensure it is free from contaminants and pathogens. Many boats are equipped with special water treatment systems that convert seawater or water from rivers and lakes into drinking water. It is also important to ensure that the tanks, pipes and fittings are kept clean to avoid contamination. This is the only way to ensure that everyone on board has an adequate supply of clean and healthy drinking water.
