Until now, the RemigoOne outboard motor was controlled directly at the engine - so you had to lean backwards every time to regulate the speed. This was not only impractical, but also restricted the freedom of movement on board. Remigo has now responded to this and introduced a wireless remote control that solves precisely this problem.

With a range of up to 15 metres, the speed of the RemigoOne can now be conveniently adjusted from anywhere on the boat - regardless of whether you are at the front of the bow or relaxing in the cockpit. This not only makes steering more comfortable, but also provides significantly more flexibility on board.

Flexible, portable and floatable

The remote control can be easily attached to the tiller holder using a magnetic holder system or alternatively worn directly on the wrist. It comes with a floatable wristband that is not only practical, but also offers a real plus in terms of safety: If the remote control falls into the water, it stays on top and can be easily retrieved.

"When we designed the RemigoOne, we placed the throttle control directly on top of the engine with the integrated battery," said Marko Vrtovec, CEO of Remigo. "Despite its elegant design, the RemigoOne is built for tough use at sea. By eliminating vulnerable connection points such as external throttle levers or batteries, we increase durability."

"As some boaters prefer outboards with a throttle on the tiller handle, we wanted to offer them something better: a tiller-mounted remote control that still offers the robust reliability for which the RemigoOne is known," added Vrtovec.

Automatic engine stop in the event of "man overboard"

One particularly well thought-out feature is the integrated "man overboard" system. If the person carrying the remote control falls into the water, the system recognises the situation and stops the engine automatically. This can be crucial in an emergency, especially when travelling alone or when children are on board.

RemigoOne: Simple, functional, unobtrusive

The technology remains deliberately understated: the remote control is simple, intuitive to use and clearly displays the speed - without superfluous buttons or complicated menus. Anyone who favours clever, reliable solutions that integrate unobtrusively into everyday life on board will find what they are looking for here.

The remote control for the RemigoOne is available now and costs 180 euros.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
