The market for electrically powered flight boards is becoming more diverse. Aerofoil is also breaking new ground.

The e-foil manufacturer, which started out as a spin-off from Audi with the e-Tron composite board, is now targeting beginners and cruisers with the €14,499 Hyperfly. The inflatable board has been extended with a control column based on the scooter principle.

Weight distribution decides on take-off

It's not just about holding on to the handlebars, the resulting weight distribution is just as important. After all, this is crucial for take-off and constant flight. A display is mounted in the centre of the handlebars, with a finger throttle on the outside, which e-surfers use to regulate the load in a similar way to jet skis. The electric motor and impeller are fully encased in the fuselage, so there is no risk of getting caught in rotating parts.

iBoard from Aerofoil comes with advantages

The new iBoard also has a double advantage: firstly, the 230 litres for storage on board shrink to around a fifth of the size, and secondly, you fall softer in the event of a crash. Aerofoil's anti-breach system, which warns of touchdowns or rodeo rides on the display, is designed to increase riding safety even further. If you are travelling safely in foil mode, you can quickly grab the water bottle holder or dry bag with one hand on the column.
