Letech Marine is expanding its range to include three accessory components for maritime use. The S1 and SF2 headlight brackets and the R2 radar mast are now available in electropolished and powder-coated versions. The company is utilising its experience in off-road vehicle construction to enter the marine sector.

Letech Marine is the new business division of Letech GmbH & Co. KG from Welzheim. The company is transferring its expertise from the construction of off-road vehicles and expedition equipment to the maritime sector. The first three products are aimed at boat owners who need additional lighting and radar equipment in the dark or in difficult conditions. All components are manufactured in Germany in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.

S1 headlight bracket with four LED round headlights

The S1 headlight bracket is equipped with four LED round headlights, which together generate 22,840 lumens of luminous flux. This luminosity should be sufficient to adequately illuminate the waterway even when travelling at night. The bracket measures 1,060 millimetres in width, 245 millimetres in height and 413 millimetres in length. The model is available either electropolished (item number 13291) or powder-coated (item number 13292). The scope of delivery includes a Power Control Unit (PCU), which can be used to set three pre-programmed light modes.

The Letech PCU makes it possible to switch quickly between different lighting situations. In the first mode, two spotlights shine with 11,420 lumens, in the second mode all four with full power of 22,840 lumens. The third mode only activates the position light. The housing of the control unit is made of anodised aluminium with a laser-engraved Letech logo. The PCU is also available separately under item number 10361.

SF2 headlight bracket for larger boats

The SF2 headlamp bracket with six LED headlamps offers a total luminosity of 34,260 lumens. According to the manufacturer, the design is intended to ensure that the headlights remain securely in place even in rough seas. At 1,667 millimetres wide, 662 millimetres high and 398 millimetres long, the model is significantly larger than the S1. A special feature is the option of fitting a night vision camera, which can be integrated into the design. This model is also available electropolished (article number 13420) or powder-coated (article number 13421).

Radar mast R2 for radar systems and antennas

The R2 radar mast is used to mount radar systems, antennas and other nautical components. The design is based on a low construction with a robust design. The mast measures 2,246 millimetres in width, 1,624 millimetres in height and 2,494 millimetres in length. According to the manufacturer, the flat design is intended to give the boat a sporty look. Like the headlight brackets, the radar mast is also available in electropolished (item number 13426) and powder-coated versions (item number 13425).

Material and processing

All three products are made of marine aluminium, which is characterised by its resistance to corrosion in salt water. The electropolished version offers a shiny surface, while the powder-coated version is designed to provide additional protection against mechanical impact. Production takes place entirely at the Welzheim site in Baden-Württemberg.

From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
