The Foling PWC (Personal Watercraft) offers space for two people and has an electric drive. The latter delivers 45 kW and, according to the manufacturer, accelerates the hyperfoil up to 35 knots. Anyone can probably imagine that this acceleration phase is fun thanks to the high torque of the electric motor. To ensure that the ride always remains safe and comfortable, there is specially developed driving software that, for example, micro-adjusts the wings a hundred times per second. According to the manufacturer, you can ride for up to two hours on one battery charge.
The foils can be retracted for easy transport and the Valo Hyperfoil then fits on a standard trailer. It is made from state-of-the-art materials such as carbon, titanium and high-strength stainless steel.
Boundary Layer Technologies, a start-up company in the field of marine technology, is responsible for the project and has set itself the goal of making water transport cleaner with the help of hydrofoil technology.
