One thing is clear: you simply have to be able to rely on a reliable power supply on board. Arco Marine is now bringing a breath of fresh air to the market - with the new Zeus 48V and 24V alternators, which provide plenty of power both at slow speeds and at higher speeds.

The flagship of the new series is the Zeus A8000-48V. It has undergone significant further development: A newly designed rotor ensures that the machine runs more efficiently, produces less heat and still delivers plenty of power - at all speeds. That means in figures: Over 55 amps at 2,500 rpm and almost 111 amps at 4,000 rpm. At the same time, the device remains nice and compact - so it doesn't take up any extra space.

"Our customers wanted a 48V version with the usual Arco reliability," says Chris Witzgall, Head of Sales at Arco. "What they got is a real powerhouse that easily outperforms the competition - and takes up the same space as our 12V and 24V models."

Two new 24V versions of the Zeus generators

Arco is also stepping up its game in the 24V range: With the Zeus 7 kW High Output and the Zeus 4 kW Low Turn-On (LTO), two alternatives are coming on board that are optimised for different driving profiles. The LTO was specially developed for boats with low-revving diesel engines - perfect for anyone who likes to "chug along comfortably" in the harbour or at anchor and still needs power.

On the other hand, the Zeus 7 kW generator is just right for those who like to travel a little faster and want to draw plenty of power. It delivers more than 5 kW of continuous power at operating temperature - and at a price that is really impressive.

Made in USA

The generators are manufactured in the USA, where Arco has been producing motor and electrical components for the marine industry for decades. The company launched the first models in the Zeus series - the A275L and A225S - back in July 2024. With the new series, Arco now wants to hit the ground running and establish innovative, high-performance products in the upper class.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
