This is what the new interface looks like.
Raymarine, one of the world's leading manufacturers of marine electronics, and Suzuki Marine, a specialist in outboard engines, have announced a co-operation. Suzuki engines can now be integrated directly into Raymarine Axiom chart plotters.

Thanks to the latest LightHouse 4.10 software update, boaters can now call up a wide range of important engine data in real time at the helm - without additional displays. The parameters include speed over ground, engine speed, gear position, oil pressure, trim and tilt position, alternator voltage, fuel tank levels and rudder position. Special Suzuki functions such as troll mode - for precise trolling at a constant low speed - are also supported. In addition, the system provides all relevant warning messages, such as oil pressure, coolant temperature, water in the fuel or system errors.

New app for the plotter

The new Suzuki app on Axiom from Raymarine also offers a trip data page with information on engine hours. As well as distances travelled, fuel consumption, average consumption, remaining range and much more.

"We are very excited to partner with Suzuki Marine," says Michelle Hildyard, Vice President Operations at Raymarine. "With the full integration of Suzuki engine data into our LightHouse operating system, we are enabling boaters to have a smarter, safer and even more comfortable experience on the water."

Morio Omanyuda, Division Manager of the Suzuki Marine Marketing Division, also emphasises the added value: "This collaboration takes our engine technology to a new level - precise, clear and a real benefit for the customer."

Which motors can be used?

The Axiom Suzuki app supports up to four compatible Suzuki engines and is available with the release of the new operating system. The Axiom Suzuki app is compatible with all current Suzuki outboard engines from 40 hp that use the Suzuki NMEA2000 gateway (34923-96L13). It is also possible to connect to other current and older models by using other devices and adapters. Please contact Raymarine support for this. They can provide you with information on models prior to 2016.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
