Honda has something new up its sleeve: the brand new BF300 outboard motor is celebrating its premiere at Boot 2025 in Düsseldorf! Following the success of the Honda BF350, Honda is launching its second model with a powerful V8 engine.

The BF300 focuses on power and smart features. The 5-litre V8 engine with a 60° cylinder bank angle provides plenty of thrust, yet runs quietly and efficiently - perfect for anyone who appreciates both performance and comfort when boating, according to the manufacturer.

"With the Honda BF300, we are once again demonstrating that Honda stands for innovation and reliability. This engine delivers exactly the performance that boaters expect," says Katsuhisa Okuda, President of Honda Motor Europe.

More driving pleasure, more control

A real highlight is the VTEC technology, which was originally developed for Formula 1. It automatically adjusts the valve control to the engine speed, ensures powerful acceleration and at the same time helps to keep fuel consumption low. An integrated oxygen sensor optimises the fuel supply without sacrificing performance.

Honda has also equipped the BF300 with other clever functions that make boating even more enjoyable. Thanks to BLAST (Boosted Low Speed Torque), there is extra power when accelerating from low engine speeds, while ECOmo (Economy Controlled Motor) ensures fuel-saving journeys.

BLAST is a system from Honda that adjusts the torque by controlling the ignition and fuel treatment. It helps the boat to glide in the shortest possible time - an advantage that is otherwise mainly known from 2-stroke engines. The system really comes into its own in the range below 3,500 rpm: Here, the ignition of the air-fuel mixture is brought forward to maximise performance.

ECOmo is a fuel-saving technology from Honda that automatically optimises fuel consumption. While the engine maintains normal consumption when driving slowly or at full throttle, the system recognises when less fuel is needed in the medium speed range and reduces the supply - without affecting performance. This ensures more efficient consumption, a greater range per tank of petrol and lower CO₂ emissions. According to the manufacturer, savings of up to 13 per cent are possible.

The new built-in remote control with iST (Intelligent Shift and Throttle) and the 5-button multifunction panel enable precise control. Particularly practical: with the cruise control function, the speed can be maintained at the touch of a button - ideal for relaxed cruising. And an automatic tilt function helps when anchoring or mooring.

The touch panel can also be used to adjust trim and tilt limits and make other personalised settings.

Stylish design with high-end technology

With the BF300, Honda is expanding its premium segment of outboard engines. Together with the BF350, it belongs to the brand's most powerful class. The engine is aimed at discerning water sports fans who are looking for performance and efficiency in a stylish package. Its modern design with 3D chrome logos and a dynamic silhouette makes the BF300 a real highlight, not only technically but also visually.
