The hydrocopter is a work tool for use on snow, ice and open water surfaces. The vehicle enables movement in areas that are inaccessible to conventional means of transport.
The electric model 370 is 370 centimetres long, 150 centimetres wide and 45 centimetres high. The floor is made of aluminium with a plastic coating. The total weight is 150 kilograms. The vehicle transports up to three people. The EPG-21 engine generates 86 kilograms of thrust. A three-bladed carbon fibre propeller with a diameter of 140 centimetres drives the device. The lithium battery weighs 20 kilograms and stores 5 kilowatt hours of energy. With a full charge, the hydrocopter can cover around 20 kilometres, depending on the weather conditions.
In winter, the propeller motor steers the vehicle, while in summer an outboard motor can take over this task if required. Both drives can be changed quickly. The propeller motor is attached to the rear with two nuts, while the outboard motor mount also only requires two screws for attachment. Additional batteries are available as accessories. The 370 model costs 19,000 euros plus VAT.
A 50 hp Hirth two-stroke engine powers the petrol-powered version of the 370 model. The total weight increases to around 200 kilograms, the dimensions correspond to the electric model. The price is 19,500 euros plus VAT.
The new 400-420 model range offers larger dimensions. The width varies between 160 and 180 centimetres. There is a choice of three different Hirth engines: an air-cooled 50 hp two-stroke, a liquid-cooled 70 hp two-stroke and a liquid-cooled 100 hp two-stroke. The 100 hp model is 410 centimetres long and 180 centimetres wide. A three-bladed carbon fibre propeller transmits the engine power.
Various extras extend the range of applications. An outboard motor bracket enables summer operation on open water. The propeller cover protects the drive when not in use. Special aluminium rudders improve steering on frozen surfaces.
T:mi Kyösti Toivanen, expressly points out that the hydrocopter is not suitable for children or inexperienced drivers. The operation requires knowledge of handling motorised vehicles on different surfaces. Interested parties can call +358 40 5886382 or send an e-mail to kk.toivanen@hotmail.com Contact us.
