As before, the event is supported by boot Düsseldorf, Pantaenius and idea, with akf Bank joining as a new conference partner. As usual, the venue is the Elbkuppel of the Hotel Hafen Hamburg.
Although the timetable has not yet been finalised, Peter Hürzeler, CEO of Ocean Independence, will probably give the first presentation. His topic is an obvious "warm-up": "The megayacht market - analysis and future vision". As one of the most active and experienced brokers in the world, Hürzeler has a deep insight into the market, and his presentation is sure to inspire many an audience member.
A second big name on the list of speakers is Rolf Vrolijk. One of the most successful sailing yacht designers
(including winning the America's Cup with "Alinghi" in 2003) will use a current project to explain the pitfalls and trends in designing large formats. Jan Terlouw, Sales Manager at Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten, will show what is important once Vrolijk's work is complete. The interior fitters from Dinklage are one of the top addresses when every (saved) kilogramme on board counts.
As every year, there will of course be a captain at the GSC 2014. Olaf Steckstor ("Eclipse",
"Attessa IV") now works as a consultant and owner's representative, which is more conducive to his topic "The selection of shipyards and suppliers". While Steckstor specialises in motor yachts
Sebastian Allebrodt from A2B Maritime Consultants will talk about the increasingly complex rigs and masts of large sailing yachts. Allebrodt, who has already supervised the construction of "Aglaia" and "Nirvana" with his team, is also currently working on a 100-metre sloop ...
Other speakers at the GSC 2014 include Tobias Allebrodt, Managing Director at SpecTec GmbH, with "SOLAS, class, flag" and lawyer and consultant Prof Dr Christoph Schließmann with "Options for efficient yacht operation".
