IMIT - a new trade fair for yacht interiors and design - was supposed to take place in Rostock from 14 to 16 October. Shortly before the start of the trade fair, the organiser filed for insolvency.

"Our aim is to become an international industry meeting place where designers, suppliers and end customers can gather information, exchange ideas and cultivate relationships," said Fabian Lorbeer, Managing Director of IMIT organiser H2VC GmbH, in the run-up to the trade fair. This goal is now a long way off. H2VC GmbH filed for insolvency shortly before the start of the trade fair. When asked, Andreas Markgraf, Division Manager of HanseMesse Rostock, explained: "The organiser did not appear on site at the agreed time, which is why we did not allow the stand to be set up. We, as HanseMesse, cannot cancel the event, the organiser has to do that. Nevertheless, I can hardly imagine that the IMIT will take place tomorrow." According to Markgraf, no stand had been set up by midday on Monday, i.e. around 22 hours before the start of the trade fair.

BOOTE EXCLUSIV, actually a media partner of IMIT, distances itself from H2VC GmbH. Editor-in-chief Marcus Krall: "I found the idea of organising such a trade fair refreshing and therefore supported it. However, of course we can't x-ray the organisers' handling. I find the communication shortly before the start of the trade fair disastrous."
