The course was 22.7 miles long and kept the participants in race mode for more than three hours in winds below ten knots. The 27-metre "Savannah", which looks similar to a J above the waterline but has a free-standing rudder, won Group B ahead of "Ganesha", the longest participant at 46 metres. The 37-metre Oyster "Archelon", which is taking part in the Superyacht Cup for the first time, came third, followed by the 43-metre Vitters boat "La Belle". In Class A, sporty formats such as "Pattoo" (ex-"Missy"), the Wally 80 "Rose" and the Southern Wind 105 "Kiboko Tres", which entered the Cup for the first time, competed. The latter came out on top at her premiere.

The J-Class yachts sailed ahead and made a tightly packed start. "Topaz" helmsman Peter Holmberg once again pushed the Frank C. Paine rip across the line very convincingly. Shortly afterwards, however, "Svea" caught better wind to leeward. "Velsheda" opted for the right-hand side, where the wind died a little. "Svea" marked the first mark ahead of "Topaz", "Ranger" and "Velsheda". They all crossed the finish line in exactly the same order. And this time, the subsequent compensation calculation did not result in a result correction.
