They know each other. The "usual suspects" sit at the jury table: "Boatmag.it", "Bätliv", "Neptune", "Marina CH", "Motorboot", "Nautica i Yates", Yachtrevue" and BOOTE. The editors-in-chief and testers of the renowned motorboat magazines are eligible to vote. The list of candidates includes more than 200 new products. The best of the year are being sought in seven different categories. After electric boats, which celebrated their premiere last year, power catamarans now have their own category. Important: Only boats that have been tested by the jury before the vote may be voted for. The jurors meet in the "polling station", exchange results and points of view and then select the nominees for the European Powerboat Award in an open vote, with workmanship, handling characteristics, safety, room layout, value for money and the implementation of innovative ideas being prioritised by the experts as always. The award winners will then be announced at boot in Düsseldorf.

Modern Art: Ceccarelli Yacht Design customised the fashionable "suit". Innovative details such as a carbon fibre fly, a saloon with kitchen and dining table, two luxuriously equipped cabins for the owner and his guests and Volvo Penta's electronically controlled IPS were brought into shape.
Back to the future: production technology and construction materials are state of the art, while the style is more traditional. The OT 60 impresses with its economical fuel consumption and comfort. The saloon, cabins and bathrooms fulfil (almost) every wish in terms of comfort, even on long voyages.
Exemplary: the choice between diesel, hybrid or electric drive is a model for the future. Thanks to solar technology, all electrical appliances installed on board the hybrid version can also be operated without a generator or shore power. Flybridge, three cabins and saloon are standard.
Steel or aluminium: Vanton in the Netherlands offers both. The QS 45 CC is aimed at people who want to discover Europe's coasts, lakes and rivers. Always on board: a saloon with steering position, sofa and glass roof, two cabins with double beds, a bathroom, galley and two diesel engines.
For those who want to go further: the shipyard sees it as the right choice for anyone looking for a luxurious 50-foot yacht. Thanks to a kite system that can move the 50 TA through the water at 5 knots without additional engine power, the steel yacht has an almost unlimited range.
Two, three or four: In the standard version with two cabins with double beds and separate bathrooms, the owner can double the number of cabins if desired. The saloon, which offers space for a large seating area and the kitchen, and the fly with hardtop, wet bar and direct access to the foredeck are only available once.
That's America: At first glance, sleek lines, powerful outboards and a spacious cockpit layout with a hardtop that keeps the driver and co-driver out of the rain, lavish upholstery and galley set the tone. Two cabins, equipped with comfortable beds and showers, are "hidden" below deck.
No frills: clear lines are the hallmark of the Leopard series. Equipped with two 250 hp diesels and a top speed of 23 knots, the 40 PC is anything but a lame duck. The flybridge, the saloon, which is also used for cooking, and three cabins with shower and bathroom are also impressive.
On the whole: The shipyard promises space that is otherwise only available on larger yachts. In fact, there is enough space to install two cabins with bathrooms and two convertible seating areas on the foredeck and in the cockpit. A unique selling point is the XXL-sized bathing platform, which, when folded out, accommodates the outboard double in its centre.
Pressure thing: If the cockpit gets too cramped, two folding terraces create the desired space at the touch of a button. This allows you to enjoy the comfort offered by the kitchen and the convertible seating area to the full. The sun lounger on the foredeck, two cabins with toilet and two outboards are always on board.
Ready to take off: glide effortlessly and calmly like a bird over the water. "We will fly you into an exciting future," promises the Dutch shipyard. Behind the promise is a day cruiser equipped with electric motors and an electronically controlled foil system. This will give the 8S a speed of 38 knots and a range of 40 nm when cruising at 25 knots.
Take it easy: The designers and engineers from Munich consistently rely on carbon fibre and innovative production processes. That makes it "slim". It is motorised with a 20 kW electric outboard motor. The battery capacity is sufficient for 45 minutes at full throttle. At "creep speed", the fun ends after 6 to 10 hours.
Better indoors than outdoors: for Italian boat builders, electric inboard motors that allow fast gliding are the way of the future. The 50 or 80 kW motors come from Molabo in Ottobrunn, the hull from Christian Grande's computer.
When you need to go fast: The 125 kW (170 hp) electric motor makes the Weekender, which is equipped with four berths and a chemical toilet, 30 knots fast. If you want to take things slowly, you can plan on a range of 50 nm. Important: In fast-charging mode, the 63 kWh battery pack is fully recharged in 50 minutes.
