The BOOTE boating training on Mallorca once again offered 25 beginners and advanced boaters the ideal conditions to improve their boating skills in theory, practice and safety. The next event will take place in October 2025 in the harbour of Port Calanova.

Sunshine and a pleasant breeze - perfect conditions for anyone who really wants to learn something on the water. The BOOTE driving training on Mallorca, organised by Delius Klasing Verlag, was fully booked again this spring with 25 participants. Once again, the event was organised by Yacht insurer Pantaenius supported. Also involved were the Boat dealer Boote-Polch and the Boat school Onwaterwho provided the driving instructors. Julian M. captured the BOOTE driving training with impressive pictures and videos.

BOOTE driving training is aimed at beginners and experienced drivers

From 3 to 5 April, a mixed crew of beginners and experienced sailors steered five modern Axopar and Nimbus motorboats from Boote Polch through the waters around the Balearic island. The three-day event started on Wednesday evening with a social get-together. It was clear right from the start that the group, including six participants who were returning for the second time due to their positive experiences, harmonised perfectly. The fun factor was not neglected during the training.

Practice and theory are on the learning plan

On Thursday morning, the practical training began under the guidance of experienced skippers. After a short briefing on land, the training participants immediately felt the helm in their hands again on their first practical trips. The combination of basic manoeuvres and more demanding sailing exercises, combined with helpful theory units, ensured that everyone was challenged at their own level - whether they were absolute beginners or experienced.

On the second day, the trainer from the Onwater boat school explained the special features of Mallorcan waters in the theoretical morning session before heading out again for the practical trips. The weather conditions in the area were more challenging on the first few days, but the weather offered the best training conditions. As a highlight of the evening, Delius Klasing hosted a dinner together in a typical Spanish tapas bar - a culinary delight during which the boat enthusiasts were able to socialise in a relaxed atmosphere.

Safety training with Pantaenius

The event concluded and culminated on Saturday with live safety demonstrations by experts from Pantaenius. The functionality of life jackets and life rafts, special survival suits and the use of flares were demonstrated realistically in the harbour basin. These safety aspects were particularly informative for many participants. Thanks to this theoretical unit, all participants are now well prepared and know exactly how to act in an emergency.

High demand for BOOTE driver training

Demand for the popular boating training courses remains high and anyone interested should hurry, as the next event will take place on the Balearic island from 2 to 4 October 2025. A boating licence is not required. If you want to take part, you should book in good time. Here you will find further information on registration.
