The first German Superyacht Conference (GSC), organised this February by BOOTE EXCLUSIV, was a complete success (see issue 3/12). And the second edition - supported by boot Düsseldorf, Pantaenius Yachtversicherungen, MTU and Alpha Yachtmanagement - is likely to surpass it.

A number of top-class speakers have already confirmed their attendance at the GSC 2013, which will take place in Hamburg on 28 February. Claus-Peter Offen, yacht owner and President of the International Maxi Association, will talk about "Regatta rules for superyachts", experienced yacht captain Matthias Bosse will discuss how designers' ideas can be put into practice on board, and art consultant Berndt Kreiseder's topic is - of course - "Art on board". Yacht designer Frank Neubelt describes the ongoing trend towards explorers and his renowned colleague Andrew Winch the development of yacht design over the past - and perhaps coming? - decades. The speaker and topic of the Royal Huisman shipyard had not yet been finalised at the time of going to press, and a top Italian speaker has yet to finalise the GSC in his diary. You will find the exact programme in issue 5/12.

A new location

Due to the large crowds at the premiere event and the expected number of participants of 150 guests for the GSC 2013, the conference location will have to be changed. The event is moving from Le Royal Méridien to the "Elbkuppel" of the Hotel Hafen Hamburg - with a view of the Blohm + Voss docks. We are also fulfilling the wish of many participants for more networking opportunities here. Following the presentations, there will be a happy hour before all guests are invited to the "Open Ship" party in the editorial offices. Registration for the GSC 2013 is only possible online; the corresponding form will be available at www.superyachtconference.com on 1 September 2012. The participation fee (lectures, catering, happy hour, transfer and "Open Ship" party) is 289 euros. The number of participants is limited to 150 guests.
