After a year off, shipyards and brokers return to Port Hercule - with last-minute cancellations and welcome surprise guests such as the 108-metre Benetti "Ije".

The show in Monaco has been by far the most important event in the packed superyacht calendar for many years. The 30th edition of the show will now take place from 22 to 25 September - in the usual exclusive setting of the Port Hercule, but with a completely revised concept. From now on, potential owners and charter customers will be more in focus on the blue exhibition carpets and with an expanded supporting programme. The clear move away from a pure B2B trade fair shines through in this year's MYS programme. At its core are three visitor badges: The "Discover" badge is specially designed for people interested in yachts. Their owner representatives and family office advisors hang the "Advise" badge around their necks, while industry representatives can be quickly recognised thanks to a "Connect" badge. The organisers' aim is to make it easier to identify and better guide potential buyers who want to meet with shipyards or designers, for example. A logical consequence of the tripartite division: on the first day of the fair, Wednesday 22 September, the jetties and quays are reserved for those wearing "Discover" and "Advise" badges. On the following days, all MYS visitors will have access to the yachts and tenders in the water.

The key data of the show

Exhibition times and prices: 22 to 25 September 2021, Wednesday to Friday 10-18:30. Saturday 10-18:00. Day ticket 500 euros, two days 850 euros, three days 1350 euros. On Wednesday, 22 September, admission only with a personal invitation from MYS (Sapphire Experience) or as an exhibitor. Hotels can be organised by the trade fair via www.monacoyachtshow.com

You will find BOOTE EXCLUSIV at stand DS02.

Exclusively for potential new owners, charter clients and their advisors, the Monaco Yacht Show is also organising its second Monaco Yacht Summit the day before the show opens, where a high-calibre panel of industry experts will provide information and inspiration on all areas of yachting. The event will take place at the Yacht Club de Monaco and can only be attended by personal invitation. With the "Sapphire Experience", the Monaco Yacht Show also sweetens the stay in Monaco for this select group of people. The programme, organised by a concierge service, includes visits to the show's largest yachts, meetings with yacht designers and shipyards, invitations to gala evenings, cocktail parties on board and tender trips in the Bay of Roquebrune.

To ensure that B2B visitors also benefit from the new trade fair plan, suppliers and yacht outfitters will be clearly organised by theme in the tents and on the quays for the first time this year. The organisers have also christened a new show area dedicated to design, trends and innovations the "Yacht Design & Innovation Hub". However, the highlight of the trade fair remains the unrivalled selection of new superyachts exhibited by the most renowned shipyards and brokerage houses.

Here are the recommendations from the BOOTE EXCLUSIV editorial team:

"Viva": The 94 metre long De Voogt Azure design delivered this year
design comes from Feadship halls and is the largest yacht at the show.

Martin Hager

Editor in Chief YACHT

Martin Hager is editor-in-chief of the titles YACHT and BOOTE EXCLUSIV and has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag for 20 years. He was born in Heidelberg in 1978 and started sailing at the age of six, in an Opti of course. This was soon followed by 420s, Sprinta Sport and 470s, which he also sailed on the regatta course with his brother. His parents regularly took him on charter trips through the Greek and Balearic Islands. Even at a young age, it was clear to him that he wanted to turn his passion for water sports into a career. After graduating from high school and completing an internship at the Rathje boatbuilding company in Kiel, it was clear that he did not want to become a classic boatbuilder. Instead, he successfully studied shipbuilding and marine engineering in the Schleswig-Holstein state capital and focused on yacht design wherever he could. His diploma thesis dealt with the “Testing of a new speed prediction method for sailing yachts”. In 2004, the superyacht magazine BOOTE EXCLUSIV was looking for an editor with technical and nautical background knowledge, a position that was perfect for Martin Hager. The application was successful and a two-year traineeship was arranged. After twelve years as an editor, the editorial team changed and he took over responsibility for BOOTE EXCLUSIV as editor-in-chief in 2017. After long-time YACHT editor-in-chief Jochen Rieker moved to the role of publisher, Martin Hager also took over the position of editor-in-chief of Europe's largest sailing magazine YACHT, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, at the beginning of 2023. When he's not working on topics for the two water sports titles, Martin Hager likes to go out on the water himself - preferably with kite and wingfoil equipment or on a little after-work trip across the Alster.
