IWC Schaffhausen presents a new edition of the Spitfire line. The design is based on the iconic fighter plane from the 1930s.

For the Pilot's Watch Chronograph Spitfire (Ref. IW387901 and IW387902), IWC is using a chronograph movement from the 69000-calibre family for the first time in its pilot's watches.

The Spitfire, designed by Reginald J. Mitchell, is considered one of the most sophisticated developments in the history of aviation.

The iconic shape of the legendary British fighter plane is the result of a perfectly functional design: its elliptically shaped wings not only make it extraordinarily manoeuvrable, they also give it its unique silhouette. This is exactly how the typical instrument design of IWC's pilot's watches was created in response to specific engineering requirements from military aviation
