Among other things, Damens Werftschau is a consequence of the cancellation of this year's Monaco Yacht Show. Participation in the "Amels and Damen Yachting Private View 2020" event is based on the guest list principle, i.e. invitations are issued by Damen Yachting. Managing Director Rose Damen explains: "It's great to see how clients have embraced virtual technology in recent months, but in our business nothing can replace the opportunity to get on board a yacht. We are delighted to offer charter and new build customers this opportunity. By welcoming them to our shipyard, we can ensure maximum comfort, safety and privacy for a very limited number of invited VIP guests." Damen Yachting clarifies that there will be no general admission to the yard. Virtual yacht tours will be organised for customers who are unable to attend.
The Dutch shipyard group initially confirmed the participation of the following yachts:
"La Datcha"
The robust 77-metre explorer is the second longest in the world after the 62-metre "Anawa" the second launch for SeaXplorer. For charterers "La Datcha" Owner Oleg Tinkov has already presented an ambitious route plan with whale-watching tours in Greenland, heli-skiing in Kamchatka and diving adventures in Micronesia. Tinkow's SeaXplorer 77 departs for 740,000 euros a week with twelve passengers, including 40 days of autonomy and two helicopters.
Amels 242
The Dutch are inviting people on board a 74-metre limited edition model before it goes to the owner. There is a one-year waiting period for serious buyers; Amels is working on a sixth model of the semi-custom flagship.
"Blue Ocean"
Yacht Support is contributing a 55-metre supply vessel, which will be transferred to the North Sea after completion at the Damen site in Antalya.
