The Regate di Primavera was caught between two weather fronts this year and presented the race organisers with major challenges. At the start of the spring regatta, which emerged from the Trofeo Zegna, there was a calm in the Gulf of Tigullio. On the second day, the twelve maxis sailed a course of around 26 miles; with steep waves and stiff winds, they sailed past the Portofino lighthouse to Santa Margherita Ligure. There was then a break for storms and thunderstorms and finally two short coastal races in ten to twelve knots of wind. The second edition of the Regate di Primavera was won by "Twin Soul B", a Mylius 80 owned by shipyard owner Luciano Gandini, who steered the boat himself and received instructions from Tommaso Chieffi. The "Morgana" owner invited other sailing celebrities on board with Torben Grael.
