On the first weekend in May, Werder an der Havel will be dedicated to water sports. After last year's premiere in Düsseldorf, the Mercury Experience Days are coming to the capital region this year. Mercury Marine, the world's largest manufacturer of boat engines for leisure boats, has teamed up with the Boot&Fun leisure fair for the event. The test event for sports boats with Mercury engines offers water sports enthusiasts and interested boat newcomers the opportunity to test the latest innovations from Mercury Marine in the water. Around 50 boats - from electric to classic motorised - will be available for free test drives on the jetties of the marina in the Havelauen at the beginning of May.
These include the latest models from international boat brands such as Bavaria, Flipper, Hydrolift, Iron, Jeanneau, Karnic, Nordkapp, Quicksilver, Sea Ray and Terhi. And some unique models will be available for testing, such as the racing boat "Chica" with Berlin-based motorboat racer Hagen Jerzynski, the racing boat "Raffshore 820" or the striking one-offs from the Kaiser boat manufacturer. A complete overview of all brands and models can be found on the Website of Mercury Marine. All boats can be booked here in advance for half-hour test drives on Saturday and Sunday. A boating licence is not required as all boats are steered by a skipper. The test drives can be booked by individuals as well as families with children aged three and over.
"With our Mercury Experience Days, we not only want to appeal to experienced boaters," says Matthias Müller from Mercury Marine, "but also to those who have always wanted to know what water sports feel like. The fact that we chose Werder an der Havel this year is no coincidence. We want to present our Avator electric motor family, which was only launched in 2023, and thus also focus on the green water region. We are particularly pleased that our dealers have responded to our call to Werder and that we can offer a large number of boats for testing here. It really wasn't possible to have more boats here - we even had to put off dealers until next year."
Mercury Marine has teamed up with Boot & Fun in Berlin for the test event. Daniel Barkowski, Project Manager of the boat and leisure trade fair: "It is important to us to continuously develop the Boot & Fun programme. We are therefore delighted to have won the Mercury Experience Days, an exciting test event for water sports fans, for the capital region. In the centre of Europe's largest inland and water sports area, the latest boats and engines can be tested directly in their element at the start of the season. These include numerous models that were on display at Boot & Fun Berlin last November." In addition to the water sports activities, there will also be plenty to see on land on 4 and 5 May: Exhibitors such as Pössl (caravans), Navico with navigation technology and yacht insurer Pantaenius will be providing information on the promenade. Various food trucks will provide refreshments before and after the trip.
Mercury Marine, headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA, is a leading global manufacturer of marine propulsion systems and components. The company offers a wide range of products, including outboard engines, inboard engines, propellers, controls and accessories.
The boat and leisure fair Boot & Fun offers event highlights covering all aspects of water sports, adventure and mobility on, in and around the water. Every year in late summer, the Boat & Fun Inwater The open air boat show attracts water sports enthusiasts to Werder an der Havel. The open-air boat show offers a mix of the latest boats, test drives and sales pagodas along the promenade of the marina in the Havelauen. At the end of November, the Boat & Fun Berlin traditionally takes place at the Berlin Exhibition Centre at the end of the season. The halls under the Berlin Radio Tower are organised according to theme worlds and offer a wide range of water sports and outdoor trends.
