The sun regatta

As in the past five years, an innovative fleet cruised between moored superyachts through Port Hercule this summer. A total of 34 teams from 14 nations competed against each other. As the name suggests, only boats with alternative propulsion are permitted. Around 1000 spectators watched the spectacle. Prince Albert of Monaco said: "The creativity and commitment of these mostly young participants are a guarantee for our future. We should support them wherever we can." Winners in the various classes included New Nexus and Sunflare (both Netherlands), TU Delft Solar Boat Team, Vita Yachts (Scotland) and Estaca (France). Electric tenders were provided by Torqeedo, and the programme also included discussion rounds and a "job dating" event.
