The crew of the 46-metre "Unfurled" celebrated a perfect debut at this year's St. Barths Bucket. The 46-metre sloop, which has just been delivered by the Dutch Vitters shipyard, not only won the "Les Gazelles des Mers" class, but also the overall Bucket classification. The "Unfurled", designed by German Frers, took two first and one fourth place against "Hetairos", "Visione" and "Nilaya", among others. Incidentally, this achievement was recognised for the first time with a prize donated by Hèrmes - a Champganer cooler with a leather cover and the "Unfurled" lettering engraved on it.
A total of 39 yachts up to 90 metres in length ("Athena") took part in the Bucket on the Caribbean island, which is now regarded as the most important superyacht regatta in the world. The 42.70 metre J Class "Topaz", owned by a German, also took part for the first time. Other prizes went to "P2" (Perini Navi class), "Seahawk" (Crew Award), "Alexa of London" (Seamanship) and "Rebecca" (Wolter Huisman Memorial).
The next St. Barth's Bucket is scheduled for 16 to 19 March 2017. Registrations under http://www.bucketregattas.com/stbarths/
