Every year at boot Düsseldorf, an award is presented to honour special commitment: the "ocean tribute" Award 2025, which recognises international projects and initiatives that are committed to the 14th Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations. Interested parties can apply now

Initiatives and associations that are committed to protecting the oceans now have the opportunity to apply for the 20,000 euro "ocean tribute" award 2025. The prize will be awarded at boot Düsseldorf on 20 January 2025 and honours projects that are committed to achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 14.

Interested parties have until 31 August to submit their applications. A jury of experts will then deliberate, scrutinise the projects and select five finalists, who will then be chosen in a public vote. on this website are presented. The following criteria play an important role here:

  • Effectiveness in terms of the sustainability goal
  • Participation of people in the project
  • Networking the initiative

Award for international projects

International projects have already been honoured in recent years, including the ECOP Africa" networkwhich is committed to a healthy ocean with nature-based carbon removal and aquaculture strategies in Africa. With measures against illegal fishing and sustainable aquaculture, the network was able to convince the jury and the public.
