Eight giants spent the night on the other side of the Rhine, including some of the most prestigious names in the industry. The San Lorenzo 90A stands out as the most expensive yacht on the pontoon with a price tag of 7.8 million euros. Even the comparatively affordable Azimut Magellano comes in at 1.65 million euros.
The already tense situation for the logistics companies was further exacerbated by the flooding. Time pressure and the challenge of getting the exhibition stands ready by Saturday are causing a lot of tension behind the scenes. Nevertheless, trade fair boss Petros Michelidakis is confident at the weekend: "We are well prepared and will manage everything."
The largest exhibition attraction - the Princess X95 - with a weight of 104 tonnes posed a particular challenge due to its height and is therefore too heavy for Ship lifting crane "Big Willi". Transport under some bridges would not have been possible due to the size of the yacht. For this reason, the superyachts were transported by water on a pontoon. They were finally towed into the exhibition halls with the help of a lorry.
However, the challenges were not over: the Princess X95 had to overcome some tricky passages in the exhibition hall. Petros Michelidakis: "We have slopes from other exhibitors standing next to the Princess. The yacht has to pass underneath. It will be tight, but everything is calculated." Due to her luxurious interior and impressive length of 29 metres, she will be an eye-catcher at boot Düsseldorf 2024.
The project management promises that everything will be set up by 20 January. Despite flooding and logistical challenges, all motor yachts made it to the boot Düsseldorf exhibition halls.
