Water sports fans all over the world have had the date marked in their diaries for months: On 20 January 2024, the world's largest water sports trade fair will once again open its doors and turn Düsseldorf into a Mecca for skippers, divers, surfers and the like for eight days. On 220,000 square metres, visitors can expect lots of news from the world of motorboats, spectacular luxury yachts from leading manufacturers, new developments in boat drives and much more. A total of around 1500 exhibitors from 68 nations will be presenting themselves here, from fishing equipment suppliers to superyacht manufacturers. According to boot Director Petros Michelidakis, numerous boat and yacht premieres are expected. Trade fair boss Wolfram Diener is delighted that manufacturers who had suspended their participation this year after the coronavirus break are also back on board: "We have had very successful discussions with the manufacturers over the summer months and are experiencing great enthusiasm and anticipation for boot 2024. In particular, a very high level of internationality among the exhibitors is becoming apparent."
In 16 exhibition halls, you will find everything that makes a water sports enthusiast's heart beat faster - from dinghies to large yachts, from diving equipment to cruising inspiration. Many attractions, such as the action pool, a diving tower and the Sailing School, invite visitors to join in. In the surfing area, the focus is on the latest trend sports. Destination Seaside" presents holiday destinations on, by and in the water. Interesting stage programmes and top-class workshops for both recreational sports enthusiasts and experts are on the agenda. In the Dive Centre, stars from the diving scene will present exciting film sequences of their adventures and in the Sailing Centre, international sailing superstars will report on their trips and participation in regattas. Marine conservation and innovative, sustainable technologies will also be increasingly in the spotlight at boot 2024.
Halls 1 to 4 are reserved for small to medium-sized motorboats, fishing boats and boats with electric drives. Here we meet the who's who of the motorboat scene: Bavaria, Beneteau, Dephia, Elling, Linssen and Sealine present their motor yachts up to 20 metres. Tenders and outboards from brands such as Bayliner, Boston Whaler, Honda, Mercury, Quicksilver, Searay, Suzuki, Yanmar and Yamaha are the flagships in Hall 3. Hall 4 has been the centre of Scandinavian boat builders and innovative tenders with alternative drives for many years.
The market leaders for luxury tenders, shadowboats and superyachts will be on board in Halls 5 to 7. Superboats is a term discovered especially for boot Düsseldorf, and the best examples of this class can be found in Hall 5. Luxury yachts up to 33 metres are anchored in Hall 6. State-of-the-art yacht design, international brokers, exclusive marinas and information stands of shipyards offering luxury yachts over 33 metres characterise the picture in Hall 7a. For art lovers, there is also a good reason to linger in Hall 7: Renowned artists and galleries invite you to a varied maritime vernissage and show works with seafaring motifs, as well as decorative objects ranging from worked driftwood to model ships.
Technology fans will get their money's worth in Halls 9 and 10, where the latest technological developments for boating and propulsion systems of all sizes and classes will be presented. If you are looking for technical and nautical accessories for your boat, this is the place to be. Hall 10 features the latest engine technology, everything to do with electrical systems for boats, navigation, communication and electronics, fresh and waste water systems, heating and air conditioning technology, boat building materials and maintenance, safety equipment and deck equipment.
And here you will also find us! For the first time, we will be bringing together the formerly separate stands of YACHT, BOOTE and BOOTE EXCLUSIV magazines at the new 288 square metre Delius Klasing stand in Hall 10 (Stand G18). A varied stage programme and, of course, the entire range of Delius Klasing water sports literature, calendars, magazines and DK software await you here under one roof. There will be a counter for each of the magazines, where you will also meet members of the respective editorial teams. However, the SURF stand will still be located in the trend sports area in Hall 17 (D36).
In Hall 11 you will find all kinds of useful accessories. Marine conservation will also be back here with the "love your ocean" stand and the participating NGOs as well as the "Water Pixel World", with useful tips for fascinating underwater photos and films as well as the latest photo and film equipment. Following its successful launch at boot 2023, the blue innovation dock will continue to establish itself as a sustainability forum. "As a child of boot, the blue innovation dock is a real driver of innovation," explains Petros Michelidakis. "We were already able to experience the ideas and technologies for water sports as well as for the operation of marinas and moorings on the bid stage at boot 2023. We are in the concrete planning stage of the programme and I am not promising too much when I say that we will be presented with a wealth of new developments in 2024, including alternative propulsion systems and sustainable boat building."
In addition to boats, diving is a pillar of boot. This year, this theme world extends from Hall 11 to 13, with the centre in Hall 12. The diving tower, the pool and the stage are the heart of the hall and offer lots of fun with mermaiding and trial dives. There and in the adjoining "Destination Seaside", diving and holiday regions from all over the world invite you to dream. Another highlight in Hall 13 is the presentation of houseboats and international charter providers. This is also where boot's free cruise counselling service will take place (again with travel expert Jürgen Straßburger). Appointments can be booked via the trade fair website (see below). Hall 14 is the meeting place for canoe and kayak enthusiasts. Halls 15 and 16 are the sailing centre of boot 2024, with renowned international manufacturers presenting the entire range of sailing sports in the Multihall Village. "The sailing halls at boot are once again a true reflection of the market and next year we will also be able to welcome the manufacturers who have cancelled this year. We can look forward to yachts up to 70 feet," says Arne von Heimendahl, the boot team's expert for motorboats and sailing yachts. boot will be a trendsetter for surfing. In Hall 17, it will showcase the latest water sports such as wingsurfing, wing- and pump- foiling - always with its finger on the pulse of the times.
