Following the cancellation of boot Düsseldorf and numerous subsequent trade fairs in January, February and early March of this year due to the pandemic, boot Magdeboot - trade fair for boats, outdoor and water sports in Magdeburg - in the front row. But would it be able to get going on 11 March? The question mark in view of the high infection figures at the peak of the fifth corona wave with 7-day incidences of around 1800 was countered by the unshakeable belief of the trade fair team "that we can hold the trade fair even in difficult times", as the Managing Director of Messe- und Veranstaltungsgesellschaft Magdeburg, Steffen Schüller, emphasised in his opening speech at the 21st Magdeboot on Friday afternoon.
Yes - Magdeboot has actually made it back after a two-year break due to the pandemic! Until 6 p.m. on Sunday, 13 March, the Magdeburg exhibition grounds at Tessenowstraße 9a will be the venue for motor and sailing boats, houseboats, electric boats, inflatable boats, accessories, charter offers, diving and fun sports.
According to Schüller, the camping, outdoor and caravan sector has "grown in particular". More than 80 exhibitors will be presenting their products in two exhibition halls and on the outdoor area. The complete list of exhibitors is available on the Magdeboot website.
"Our region provides the basis for this event, as it has numerous inland waters between the Elbe and the Baltic Sea for water sports enthusiasts with over 5,000 lakes and 3,600 km of continuously navigable waters," emphasised Steffen Schüller at the opening. There are also many special features to discover on more than 8000 m2 of exhibition space at Magdeboot. As examples, the trade fair boss mentioned the boat centre on the B1 with the brands Aqualine and St. Tropez as well as Riomar Boats with four boats designed and produced in-house. Schütze Bootshandel from Köpenick and Kielwasser - Feine Boote will be at the start with six boats. Long-standing exhibitor Allert marin will be showing a Bavaria S29, while Schüller named Marina Vulkan Werft as representative of the numerous new exhibitors, along with charter providers Unruh Marine, Hausboot Rheinsberg and Floating Homes.
"We are delighted to welcome a special new exhibitor in the electrical accessories area: Fischer Panda GmbH, a globally recognised manufacturer of power generators and mobile marine and vehicle applications," says trade fair project manager Johanna Buhrke.
