Leopard catamarans are built in South Africa and are also popular in Europe. Leopard is now launching the revised 53 Powercat on the market. The world premiere took place in February 2026 at the Miami International Boat Show.

New outdoor and indoor area

The South African shipyard Robertson and Caine delivered 142 units of the predecessor model worldwide. The new 53PC catamaran made its debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2026. The redesign focuses on the exterior areas, a redesigned interior and technical optimisations. The model is aimed at both private owners and customers of The Moorings' yacht ownership programme. The drive remains unchanged: Two Yanmar engines with 370 hp each enable top speeds of up to 24 knots. The efficient hull design ensures a linear power curve and long-distance capability.

The cockpit offers two different versions: Owners can choose between a freestanding modular Alfresco configuration and a traditional fixed layout. The transom has been modified and an optional electric platform is available, whereby the aft deck platform can be used as a dinghy holder in the raised position and as a bathing platform in the lowered position.

Revised flybridge

The flybridge has been completely refitted. The seating arrangement has been enlarged and the modular back cushions are made from new fabric covers. The helm station offers improved visibility and ergonomics. A wetbar module with integrated sink, grill and refrigerator completes the equipment. The lighting has been modernised: Ambient and task lighting are integrated into the seats and structure.

Inside, the saloon and galley have been completely redesigned. New seating, high-quality surfaces and an improved connection between the galley, dining area and lounge create an open-plan living area. The 53 Powercat remains available in versions with three or four cabins, each with its own bathroom. The owner's version has a completely private suite with a large island bed and spacious walk-in wardrobe. A technical innovation concerns noise reduction: all important systems are housed in a well-insulated engine room.
