The June 2025 issue focuses on the Baltic Sea region update.
From Kiel to Bagenkop in just two hours or on a relaxed day trip to Hiddensee - the Baltic Sea is a popular cruising area that attracts skippers to numerous attractive harbours along the German, Polish and Danish coasts. BOOTE issue 06/25 not only offers inspiring destinations, but also valuable tips on buying a used boat and modern digital planning aids for the perfect start to the 2025 season.

The Baltic Sea is still one of the most popular holiday destinations for German skippers. Depending on the type of boat and the harbour of departure, many interesting destinations can be reached within a few hours or days. For example, it takes little more than two hours on a glider from Kiel to Bagenkop, one of the gateways to the Danish South Sea. From Travemünde to Hiddensee is a day's journey - but well worth it.

From Flensburg to the Polish border

In our 25-page focus on the Baltic Sea, we look at three countries bordering the Baltic Sea: firstly, of course, the German Baltic coast from Flensburg to the Polish border. This is immediately followed by the harbours between the Szczecin Lagoon and Kolberg. And the classic, Denmark, with its quaint harbours and beautiful islands, is of course not missing from our area update.

Guide to buying a used boat

However, if you are just starting out in your career and are thinking of buying a used boat at the start of the 2025 season, you should take a closer look at our buying guide. Our colleagues from the technology section have compiled everything you need to know and show you what you should pay particular attention to when viewing a used boat, including its engine system.

If you then want to go on a cruise, electronic travel planning tools may be useful. If you want to prepare your holiday at home on your laptop or tablet, you should take a look at our programme and app overview. It's amazing what can be done these days. We at the editorial team wish you a great start to the 2025 boating season and who knows, maybe we'll see you - on the Baltic Sea.

Have fun on the water

Yours, Torsten Moench
