Electric drives are becoming increasingly important. A few years ago, speed fans were still smiling mildly at them, but today you can get motors and entire drive units such as outboard motors that are in no way inferior to combustion engines in terms of performance. On the contrary, anyone who has ever experienced the spurt of a 200 kW e-motor in a boat is thrilled.
In the current BOOTE magazine, however, we take a more leisurely approach. In a large overview, we show dinghy motors with outputs between 1 kW and 2 kW. All with a removable battery. Which makes transport and charging much easier. We will also be showing electric pod drives, which are particularly interesting for those converting and upgrading electrically powered displacement boats. Those who are more interested in cruises, on the other hand, will be well served by our travel editors: in the March issue, you can choose between a cruise through the historic Hanseatic city of Lübeck or an inland cruise through Flanders.
I hope you enjoy the topics in the March issue!
