Christian Grande has designed a mould for the new Capoforte SQ240i that has been specially designed for the Molabo ISCAD 50 kW inboard electric motor.

Aschenez, the Italian shipyard that is home to the luxury boat brands Invictus and Capoforte, is presenting the first fully electric boat at boot Düsseldorf 2023.

The Capoforte is also powered by the new 50 kW ISCAD V50 electric motor system from Molabo. According to the manufacturer, this should ensure "fast, sporty gliding of the comfortable leisure boat". According to a press release: "With a 48 kWh (8 x 6 kWh modules) lithium-ion battery bank - MLI Ultra 24/6000 from Mastervolt, a range of 4 hours is achieved at a cruising speed of 6.5 knots." The charging time of the 48 kWh battery bank is said to be approx. 3.2 hours.

According to the manufacturer, the 50 kW drive from Molabo is the world's most powerful electric motor with touch-safe voltages. "The Intelligent Stator Cage Drive - ISCAD - can therefore be installed quickly and easily without high-voltage safety measures," it says.

The motor and controller form a single unit in the system. This ensures a compact size and easy installation with minimal cabling. "The efficient low-voltage components make optimum use of the battery's energy and achieve a measured system efficiency of over 95% at the optimum operating point. The system efficiency describes the combined efficiency of the motor (97%) and controller (98%)," the manufacturer explains.
