ZeroJet from New Zealand presents the second generation of its electric jet drive. The plug & play solution is aimed at tenders with a 48-volt on-board power supply. The 15-kilowatt electric motor is optimised for the comparatively low speeds of water jet drives. Once again, ZeroJet developed the pump that draws in the water specifically for high torque.
A closed cooling circuit counteracts the high operating temperatures at continuous output, while a simple drivetrain without gears minimises maintenance requirements. Lithium-iron-phosphate batteries from third-party suppliers are stored in watertight housings developed in-house and are monitored by the company's own battery management system. The divisible five-kilowatt-hour battery pack weighs around 50 kilograms, while the ten-kilowatt-hour pack weighs around 100 kilograms.
