Torqeedo will be presenting several new developments in the field of electric boat drives at Metstrade 2025 in Amsterdam from 18 to 20 November. The focus will be on the revised Cruise 3.0 and 6.0 outboard motors, which now work with 48-volt technology as standard, as well as the new Travel XS as an entry-level model and the further developed system components of the "Deep Blue G3N" series for high-performance applications.
The further developed Cruise outboards 3.0 and 6.0 adopt the modern design of the Travel family introduced in 2023 and now rely on 48-volt technology throughout. This standardisation improves compatibility with the broader Torqeedo component system, especially with more powerful batteries such as the Power 48-5000 with a capacity of five kilowatt hours.
A new retractable tiller with a high-resolution display ensures greater ease of use. The motors now have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing them to be connected to the TorqView app. This gives users real-time insights into performance data and other system-relevant information directly on their smartphone.
Sustainability was also taken into account during development: According to the manufacturer, up to 95 per cent of the shaft head components are made from recycled ocean plastic.
With the Travel XS, Torqeedo is expanding its Travel family with an affordable entry-level model. The compact outboard motor has an output of 700 watts and is particularly suitable for small dinghies. In the so-called Travel Smart Package, the motor is combined with the new Travel Battery XS with a capacity of 648 watt hours. The package is set to be launched on the market in early 2026. However, Torqeedo has not yet provided any price details.
Torqeedo presents the new system components of the "Deep Blue G3N" series for larger applications. The central elements are the new Intelligent Control Unit (ICU) and the Power Distribution Unit (PDU). These control units enable the intelligent management of all system elements for 400-volt or 800-volt systems with outputs of up to 400 kilowatts.
The components are designed according to the plug-and-play principle, which should enable simple, quick and safe installation. They can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems and are particularly interesting for OEMs, fleet operators and ecotourism providers who want to include high-performance electrified drive systems in their range.
Torqeedo is presenting its new products together with Yamaha Motor, to which the company has belonged since April 2024. Visitors can experience the entire product range of both companies in Hall 6 at Stand 06.212/06.210. Torqeedo plays a central role within the Yamaha Group in the development and industrialisation of electric drive systems.
