eFuels are CO2-neutral fuels for conventional combustion engines
There is a special platform for presentations and information on the subject of eFuels at Interboot in Friedrichshafen. There, experts will provide information on alternative fuels.

The German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV) and the Internationale Wassersportgemeinschaft Bodensee (IWGB), in partnership with the eFuels Forum, will be providing information on alternative fuels at the Interboot water sports trade fair. Interboot runs from 23 September to 1 October in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance. The eFuels Forum will be represented at the trade fair with its own information stand directly opposite the DMYV stand (A4- 214) and next to the IWGB (A4- 312) in Hall A4-313.

Here, interested parties will receive information on how they can already operate their boats with up to 90% less new CO2 emissions with HVO fuels such as KlimaDiesel and in future with CO2-neutral eFuels. The eFuels Forum stand can be recognised from afar by the green balloon floating above it. This is the symbol of all exhibitors presenting the topic of sustainability in water sports at Interboot.

What are eFuels?

eFuels ("electricity-based fuels") are liquid synthetic fuels that are produced from hydrogen and carbon dioxide using green electricity. When utilised, only as much CO2 is released as was previously removed from the atmosphere during their production. For this reason, they are considered CO2-neutral. eFuels are produced in regions of the world where wind and solar energy are available in large quantities. Tankers can then transport them in liquid form to Europe, where they can be transported and stored in the existing infrastructure and then sold at petrol stations. Other synthetic fuels that are also produced without petroleum are residual and waste-based fuels such as hydrotreaded vegetable oils (HVO).

The presentations by Dr Lorenz Kiene, Managing Director of the eFuels Forum and Klima Kraftstoffe, a consortium of medium-sized energy companies that sell the HVO product KlimaDiesel at their filling stations, will then go into more detail. The event will kick off with a presentation on the topic on the first Saturday of the trade fair, 23 September, at the International Lake Constance News (IBN) action area in Hall A4. Dr Kiene will also be informing interested listeners about what KlimaDiesel & Co is all about on the main stage in the West Foyer at 3.15 pm on the first Saturday and Sunday of the fair, 23 and 24 September.

Last but not least, a presentation on the topic of alternative fuels is planned for the IWGB Environment Day on 30 September from 10.15 a.m. in the "Austria" room in the West Conference Centre at Messe Friedrichshafen. For this we ask for a Online registration requested.
