Inboard engines from 7 to 660 hp: Which engine should it be? Search, compare and find: All current manufacturers, all technical details.

Engine damage and repowering, but also a change of area - for example to Lake Constance - can
make it necessary to replace the engine. Diesel and petrol inboard engines are listed in comparison on the following pages. In the first section, you will find diesel engines for shaft systems with reversing or V-gear as well as with Z-drive or POD up to an output of 500 hp.

The second part of the overview lists petrol engines up to an output of 660 hp with the possible drive types. For the "Price question", the RRP (recommended retail price) is noted in the lists. Special offers, such as the Volvo Penta repo offer, the Bukh Bremen discount campaign on Vetus engines or similar, are not included in the prices.

The installation and conversion of engines should only be carried out by trained specialists in order to be able to assert warranty claims at a later date. It is advisable to ask the manufacturer not only about the installation dimensions, but also about the intake and exhaust air and suitable fuel filter system in order to achieve the engine performance specified by the manufacturer. Poorly ventilated engine compartments are often the reason for performance losses.

BOOTE tip: Once the engine has been removed, you can consider replacing the engine compartment insulation at the same time. After all, you won't be able to access it again as easily as at this point.
