Thanks to the revision, the power of the inboard engine was increased to 380 hp in the Horizon version and even to 430 hp in the H.-O. version. According to the Americans, they were able to reduce vibrations and noise to increase driving comfort.
The output of the alternator has also been increased by 15 A, so there is always sufficient power on board. At the petrol station, the 8.2-litre V8 makes do with 87-octane fuel. However, this is only of interest to skippers travelling in countries where the quality of petrol is questionable. In Germany, 95-octane petrol is the lowest standard sold.
The revised V8 is compatible with the entire range of drive systems. For example, the skipper can order the engine with Axius. A new installation with an electric gearstick (DTS) from MerCruiser is also possible, as is the replacement of an older engine with mechanical actuation.
The model is also compatible with the Smart Craft instrument unit, which the skipper can use to display all important data. Naturally, the skipper is alerted acoustically and visually to malfunctions such as low oil pressure.
