From Hyundai Seasall comes a new built-in diesel - the U 125. With 125 hp, it expands Hyundai's range of boat engines, but comes from the car.

Hyundai, known for SUVs such as the Santa Fe and ix 35, also sells boat engines alongside its vehicles. The existing diesel range (D150, D170, S220 and S250) has been given a smaller brother, the new U125, which celebrated its premiere at the METS in Holland. In Germany, the diesel engine was on show for the first time at boot in Düsseldorf.

The four-cylinder originally comes from the automotive segment and is marinised by Hyundai SeasAll. The diesel unit produces an impressive 125 hp from a displacement of 1.6 litres. A turbocharger and common rail direct injection, abbreviated to CRDi at Hyundai, help with this. To ensure a better and faster gas exchange, the aluminium cylinder head has four valves per cylinder. Hyundai uses steel for the engine block and oil cooling for the piston crowns. The full-load engine speed is specified by the Koreans as 4000 rpm.

With a dry weight of 220 kg and maximum torque of 260 Nm at 1900 rpm, the U125 is designed for use on a reversing gearbox. The scope of delivery includes an engine panel on which the skipper can call up all important data such as oil pressure and cooling water temperature. The price for the U125 has not yet been set.
