The MO-6 cylinder series from Steyr Motors has been overhauled. The main aim was to optimise fuel consumption. | g.
The Austrian engine manufacturer Steyr presents the SE-6 cylinder series, a revised version of its MO series of marine diesels.

The monoblock design has been retained, as has the multifuel capability of its predecessor. According to the manufacturer, changes have been made to shorten the warm-up phase, reduce oil consumption, stop cold-start white smoke and increase efficiency: The intake ducts have been optimised, and a thermostat-controlled oil cooler and a newly designed, water-cooled exhaust manifold have been used for cooling.

According to Steyr, diesel fuel efficiency has also been significantly increased, which means that all current and future emission requirements, such as EPA Tier III, RCD, BSO 2 and IMO Nox, are met. The installation dimensions and weight of the SE series have also been reduced. Displacers and gliders can be used as boats. The weight of the diesel installation machine series is 340 kg.
