The fuel tank could be leaking due to a material defect: Yamaha is therefore recalling 4-stroke outboard engines of the F2.5A, F4B, F5A and F6C models.
Yamaha encourages all owners of F2.5A or F4B or F5A or F6C outboards to visit their Yamaha outboard dealer for replacement of the fuel filler cap.
The fuel filler cap may leak due to a material defect. Especially if the outboard motor is carried or stored horizontally. The fuel filler cap must be replaced. Replacement is free of charge. Only outboards with the serial numbers listed here are affected:
