The shareholders Kevin Marquardt, Tom Pagels and Kalle Thiele are joining forces to create a new boat dealership group with branches in Kiel, Hanover and Potsdam. Bootscenter Potsdam-Berlin, newly founded this year by the three partners, will celebrate its opening over the weekend of 4 September 2026 to 6 September 2026.

Wide range of boats

According to the company, the merger of the three sites creates a vast range of Quicksilver boats on display. The company states that its stock of Mercury outboard motors is amongst the most extensive in Germany. A unified service and advisory network spans all sites. Customers have access to a wide range of products and benefit from the combined expertise of the shareholders. The Potsdam site is situated right on the water’s edge and offers access to Europe’s largest inland water sports area. Its location provides direct access to the water for test runs and handover procedures.

The new Bootscenter offers a carefully selected range of motorboats, leisure boats and outboard motors from leading manufacturers – complemented by a comprehensive range of services: maintenance, repairs, accessories and technical advice. Technicians from the Kiel Boat Centre and the Hanover Recreational Boat Centre are on hand to provide service. And this centre is holding a big opening party this weekend, featuring test sailings.

Ralf Marquard discovered his enthusiasm for boating on the tranquil Aller, first with inflatable boats and later with a 6-meter cabin cruiser. His electrical engineering studies at HAW Hamburg took him from the southern Heidekreis (Lower Saxony) to the Hanseatic city. Ralf Marquard has been working for the BOOTE editorial team since 1997, where he trained as a test editor. He tests both small inflatable boats and larger yachts. His personal boat is a 4.50 meter long, self-built wooden boat with a 50 hp outboard motor. In 2007, he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief at BOOTE.
