"He looks like a perfect cross between Father Christmas and Harry Rowohlt. He has a mischievous sense of humour and a life full of adventure behind him. He skippered yachts for the German jet set and was as close to them as bodyguards are nowadays. Which, by the way, didn't exist in the 70s to 90s. At least not if you kept to yourself, i.e. on the superyachts and in the then still quite virgin waters of the Mediterranean. Saint-Tropez was still a fishing village, people met Brigitte Bardot while shopping or hung out with their employers in the pub in the evening.
The number of large yachts was manageable - Daniel Hechter, fashion czar, was one of the neighbours and quickly proved to be a joker: one evening he invited everyone to an inconspicuous bar, a real insider tip, without a sign outside, but one should dress smartly. So they got dressed up, brushed off their suede suits from Ibiza - and shortly afterwards found themselves at a wild party with the motto "wine making". Which meant that the guests crushed the grapes in the waiting wine barrels with their feet - a huge mess. Incidentally, Hechter himself came in oilskins ...
Anecdotes from life on board, among the upper class, to whom Scheller is still connected today and where he is often called upon to help with shipbuilding. The book portrays a world full of exoticism and normality. A world in which good manners were still everything, gentlemen like Scheller's employer, the Krupp heir Arndt von Bohlen und Halbach, sent flowers to the ladies after a fun evening - so that Scheller had the pleasure of sweetening Romy Schneider's morning with a bouquet - and employees were people with whom people liked to celebrate together. A great life story full of humour, wisdom and a thirst for adventure!"

The book will be available to buy from 10 July and can be ordered directly from here can be ordered.
