Eckernförde Bay. The 3,500-metre-long training area is situated in the inner part of the bay.
The Navy has announced exercises in Eckernförde Bay between 23 June and 2 July 2926. Vessels are requested to avoid the relevant area in the inner part of the bay.

The Bundeswehr will be conducting exercises in Eckernförde Bay on two separate occasions in the coming weeks. The Navy’s Special Forces Command, which is based in Eckernförde, intends to test the “dropping of objects from an aircraft onto the water’s surface”. It has not been disclosed whether these “objects” are boats or other equipment.

No training sessions at the weekend

In order to “prevent personal injury and damage to boats and fishing nets”, vessels are requested not to enter the relevant exercise area during either of these periods. The relevant notice does not contain any coordinates, but does include the following map sketch:

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
