The Lesser Antilles chain stretches along the border of the Atlantic and the Caribbean. Between palm-lined beaches and colourful beach bars, you can enjoy the pure drop-out feeling on a charter holiday here.

The globally represented charter provider The Moorings now offers its comfortable motor catamarans (in variants with three or four cabins) in the Caribbean at two additional destinations: on the islands of St. Lucia (start and finish of all trips is Rodney Bay; the neighbouring island of Martinique is also part of the cruising area) and St. Martin (with Rodney Bay as its base). Neighbouring Anguilla is also part of the cruising area.

A one-week charter cruise in the eastern Caribbean from St. Lucia includes four destinations on the northern neighbouring island of Martinique (along the protected west coast), including Sainte-Anne, and three on St. Lucia, including the Pitons, a landmark of the island. Points of call on St. Martin include the base of The Moorings in Marigot, Orient Bay, both on the French part of the island, Philipsburg as the capital of the Dutch half, and Road Bay and Crocus Bay on neighbouring Anguilla.

This brings the total number of areas where The Moorings provides motorised catamarans for charter to five in the Caribbean: The British Virgin Islands are also a base, as are the Abacos and Exumas, both of which belong to the Bahamas. Other destinations are the Gulf of California (La Paz in Mexico), in Europe Greece and Croatia (with two bases each) and the Seychelles and Thailand.

Christian Tiedt was born in Hamburg in 1975, but grew up in the northern suburbs of the city - except for numerous visits to the harbor, North Sea and Baltic Sea, but without direct access to water sports for a long time. His first adventures then took place on dry land: With the classics from Chichester, Slocum and Co. After completing his vocational training, his studies finally gave him the opportunity (in terms of time) to get active on the water - and to obtain the relevant licenses. First with cruising and then, when he joined BOOTE in 2004, with motorboats of all kinds. In the meantime, Christian has been able to get to know almost all of Europe (and some more distant destinations) on his own keel and prefers to share his adventures and experiences as head of the travel department for YACHT and BOOTE in cruise reports.
