Southern Dalmatia between Korčula and Dubrovnik was the most popular harbour in terms of top ports.Previously a "developing country". Only the two ACI marinas in the towns mentioned - there are almost 50 nautical miles between the two harbours - offered skippers berths and service at the highest level. This is now changing rapidly: ACI Marina Slano welcomed its first guests in May - the first new marina to be built for the ACI chain in 25 years.
The marina is named "Veljko Barbieri" in honour of the late ACI founder.
It offers200 berths for boats up to 20 metres in length. The quays and breakwaters are almost 700 metres long and the total area of the marina is 2460 square metres. In addition to the usual services, there will be business premises and a restaurant with a terrace and swimming pool. The harbour is locatedon the north-eastern shore of the bay of Slanowhich is considered the "gateway to the Elaphite archipelago". The distance to Marina Korčula is 36 nautical miles, to Dubrovnik
15 nautical miles. www.aci-club.hr
