The new marina in Gibraltar offers more and better space for superyachts.
Marina Projects Ltd. shows plans for a new marina in Gibraltar with 270 berths - including for superyachts up to 80 metres. The marina with a green pier and 144 rental flats stands on mini piles above the water.

The complex in Ocean Village and Marina Bay has a club, over 10,000 square metres of living space and is designed for superyachts with a maximum length of 80 metres (262 feet). Marina Projects has strategically arranged the best berths in the marina in Gibraltar around the centre of the complex. The result is a top address for the really big names.

The detailed design study defines the preferred arrangement of the 270 berths, highlights the details of the mooring and explains the interplay with the infrastructure on the quays.

Small superyachts moored on pontoons

The planners provided all berths with mooring buoys, the larger superyachts park directly on the pier around the Marina Club, the smaller ones on the floating jetties.

The next phase of the project will focus on connecting the superyacht berths to the spa and other club facilities.

The marina in Gibraltar rests on small piles

During the construction work, the existing marina will continue to operate and the nearby airport must not be affected. This is the main reason why the new facility is based on an efficient mini-pile system, as this minimises noise and disruption.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
