Bascule bridge Kappeln
The Schleibrücke bridge in Kappeln opens daily from April to October from 5.40 am to 9.40 pm for 15 minutes every 20 minutes before the hour. From November to March, it also opens 20 minutes before the hour, but only from 7.40 am to 5.40 pm. Attention: In the period from 31 March to 4 April 2025, there may be restrictions on bridge openings due to the regular annual maintenance work on the bridge. If necessary, the bridge keeper can be contacted on 04642 81 548. Watercraft that can pass through the bridge with the flaps closed can pass at any time.
Lindaunis railway bridge
From Friday, 28 March 2025, the Lindaunis Bridge will be opened eight times a day for around 20 minutes so that boats can pass from both directions. At 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 12.30 pm, 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm, 3.30 pm, 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm. Since autumn 2020, the railway has been working on replacing the ageing bascule bridge, which had previously repeatedly broken down. Brick trench bridge
The Ziegelgraben bascule bridge to the island of Rügen opens six times a day all year round for 20 minutes at a time: 5.20, 8.20, 12.20, 15.20, 17.20 and 21.30.
Recreational craft must be in the vicinity of the bridge ten minutes before the bridge opens. Attention: Due to maintenance work, the bridge will be fully closed from 7 May to 5 June 2025 and from 11 June to 18 June 2025 (with a break over Whitsun) and the opening times for shipping will change: during these periods, the 8.20 a.m. and 3.20 p.m. openings will be cancelled on weekdays from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, there will be no opening at 12.20 pm. On Sunday, 1 June, the bridge opening at 3.20 pm will be extended to 30 minutes and will therefore start at 3.10 pm.
Meiningen Bridge
The Meiningen Bridge between Bresewitz and Zingst (Darß peninsula) will once again open four times a day this season. Many sailors will be pleased that the lunchtime opening time of 11.55 a.m., which was only reintroduced last year after ten years, has been retained. Since 17 March and until 27 October, the bridge will open at 9.45 am, 11.55 am, 5.45 pm and 8 pm for 30 minutes at a time.
Wiecker bascule bridge
The Wiecker Bridge in Greifswald is only opened when necessary and only up to wind force seven. To indicate their intention to pass, sailors should be near the bridge with their boat ten minutes before it opens. From 24 April to 10 September, the bridge opens (as required) eleven times a day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the hour, except at 12 noon. From 11 September to 9 October, the last opening is at 8 pm. From 22 March to 23 April and from 10 to 22 October, the bridge only opens every two hours (at 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 hrs) and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 10, 14 and 16 hrs. The right of way is regulated by a traffic light system as follows: 2 x red: both sides closed. During the summer season from 16 March to 15 October, the Peenebrücke Wolgast to the island of Usedom opens five times a day for a maximum of 15 minutes for shipping: at 5.45, 7.45, 12.45, 17.45 and 20.45 hrs. Zecherin Bridge
From 1 April to 30 September, the Zecherin Bridge to the island of Usedom will once again open five times a day for 15 minutes each time: At 5.45, 8.45, 12.45, 16.45 and 20.45.
