On four dates, the Baltic Sea neighbourhoods will be informed about the current status of the project's implementation, given an outlook on the further roadmap and invited to participate.
In order to effectively protect the Baltic Sea, according to the ministry's website on the action plan, various measures must be interlinked that address all sources of pollution affecting the Baltic Sea. The APOS 2030 focusses on measures that can be implemented or initiated by the state of Schleswig-Holstein:
"The action plan sets out ambitious additional measures to protect the Baltic Sea (e.g. implementation of 12.5% strict protection in the Baltic Sea). However, it also follows on from and picks up on measures that were and are already being implemented within existing tasks of the state government, in some cases before the APOS 2030 was adopted (e.g. the salvage of old munitions). The APOS 2030 aims to intensively involve all stakeholders so that every measure safeguards the Baltic Sea as a habitat and recreational area - for people, nature and the economy."
Representatives from the ministries involved in the implementation of APOS 2030 will take part in the events. These include the Ministry of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sport (MIKWS), the Ministry of Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature (MEKUN), the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Labour, Technology and Tourism (MWVATT) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe and Consumer Protection (MLLEV).
The events take place in the Baltic Sea districts of Schleswig-Flensburg, Rendsburg-Eckernförde, Plön and Ostholstein and are aimed equally at private individuals, associations, political and social players.
In the first part of the events, representatives of the state government will present the implementation steps for the specific measures of APOS 2030. In the second part, local and regional initiatives and associations will present opportunities for voluntary involvement in the protection of Schleswig-Holstein's Baltic Sea. Interested citizens will have the opportunity to talk to the initiatives and associations as well as the ministries involved.
Around 200 places are available for each event. Registration is possible via the state website:
