The charter base of Sunshine Yachting is located in the Marina Punat, in the south of the island of Krk. If you have never been to Punat, you should not miss a visit to the nearby monastery island of Kosljun (taxi boats from the promenade) and of course the beautiful old island capital of Krk.

In the Kvarner Bay, which is so well-known among Croatia connoisseurs, it is certainly difficult to discover something really new. That's why our itinerary will probably include mostly well-known spots. Nevertheless, we will try to visit one or two lesser-known places.

Our first stage takes us westwards from Punat. I am tempted to call at the town of Senj. Senj, situated on the mainland, ranks among the world's most storm-ravaged places. Wind speeds of up to 240 km/h are measured here. That's twice 12 Beaufort! Senj lies at the lower end of a valley cut deep into the Velebit Mountains. This is where the dreaded bora occurs most frequently and most severely - statistically on 200 days a year and often at hurricane force.
